What is a Listicle?

A listicle is a piece of writing or other content presented in the form of a list. The term is a portmanteau of "list" and "article." Listicles are very popular in online content and are often used in blogging, content marketing, and digital journalism due to their digestible and engaging format.

Listicles can cover a wide variety of topics and can range in length from very short and light-hearted to more in-depth and informative.

Examples of listicles include "10 Best Places to Visit in Europe," "5 Ways to Improve Your Sleep," or "20 Healthy Recipes to Try This Week." They are often formatted with numbered or bulleted lists, and each item on the list typically includes a brief explanation or commentary.

What are the Types of Listicles?

These are shorter lists, usually with robust information in each header. A title could be "10 Best Places to Visit in Europe".

These are longer lists, usually with only one paragraph in the header. A title could be "20 Healthy Recipes to Try This Week", or "50 Ways to Improve Your Mental Health".

Can BrandWell write Long-form Listicles?

Long-form listicles might have 20, 30, or 50 headings.

BrandWell is not purpose-built for writing listicles with more than 10 headings.

If you'd like to use BrandWell to write listicles with more than 10 headings, you can write multiple articles and combine them. Or you can save the original article (export to Word, Google Docs, etc), rewrite it, and then edit the original's headers into the rewrite.

You can also use the "Ask AI > Write Sections" feature from the floating tool bar to build up your list by adding them one at a time.
