Here you'll learn how to connect BrandWell to WordPress for quick publishing, how the integration will automatically create internal links to your other content, and how to set your website's security to allow the connection.

BrandWell integrates to WordPress using a plugin. All users can install and activate our WordPress integration for their WordPress site.

All of this will be synchronized from BrandWell to your WordPress site:

  • The content (with links)

  • Title and meta descriptions

  • Featured image and other images

  • The Table of Contents (if you choose to have that inserted)

  • All "Key takeaway" sections

Step One: Download the Plugin from the BrandWell Dashboard

Enter the project you want to link to your website, then click the gear icon on the upper right corner of the dashboard.

Click "Integrations."

Select WordPress and click "Connect."

Click "Download Plugin"

Clicking this will give you the zip file of the latest version of the BrandWell WordPress plugin.

Step Two: Upload the Plugin to Your WordPress Site

Next, you'll need to manually upload the downloaded .zip file to the WordPress site you'd like to connect to a BrandWell project.

After uploading the plugin, activate it before returning to your BrandWell Dashboard to connect.

Note: If you have a previous version of our plugin, you'll be prompted to replace it with the current version (as shown in the screenshot below).

Click "Replace current with uploaded," and you're ready!

Step Three: Authorize the WP Connection

In the same project settings menu where you downloaded the plugin, click on the gear icon of the WordPress integration image. Doing so pulls up the API key for this particular project.

Clicking "Connect WP" creates a unique API key to connect with the plugin you've already installed on your site.

Copy this API key and return to the WordPress dashboard of the site you wish to connect.

In the left sidebar of your WordPress account, you'll see the BrandWell plugin. Click this, and it will open up to the place to add the copied API key.

The plugin will not change anything about your existing Wordpress posts. The plugin will only affect posts that you create using BrandWell, or any posts that were previously synchronized to Wordpress through the plugin.

After inserting the API key, click "Verify" to complete the connection.

Note the option to disconnect the connection. If you click this, a prompt will appear, asking you to confirm. Once finished, you'll need to refresh your BrandWell dashboard and the link will be disconnected in the app.

Internal Linking

Internal linking (linking to other pieces of content on your site) will happen automatically when you download and activate the BrandWell WordPress plugin.

From WordPress, click Autolinks in the dropdown by the plugin.

Here you'll see all the automated interlinking.
